Intelligent Processing of Electromagnetic Satellite Data
Zhangheng-1 (CSES)lightning whistlersdeep learningelectromagnetic anomaly extraction
Electromagnetic satellites produce massive in-situ plasma wave observations, among which lightning whistlers are key signals for space-weather and seismo-electromagnetic studies. Manual inspection and threshold-based detection can hardly handle whistlers that are wide-band, low-SNR, and morphologically diverse.
What we do
- Whistler detection & classification: weak-whistler detection, wider-band whistler detection, and a Transformer-based architecture for joint detection and classification — published in JGR: Space Physics, IEEE TIM, Remote Sensing, and Radio Science.
- Whistler morphology analysis: extraction and morphology analysis of whistlers based on CSES data.
- Other signal extraction: the civil-aerospace pre-research project on intelligent DX-signal extraction from the Zhangheng-1 satellite.
- Analysis software: a wave-vector analysis software package for Zhangheng-1 data.
